A.C.P. Logistics is specialised in the transportation and handling or movement of heavy items which are indivisible and too large or too heavy to fit into standard trucks and trailers or standard type of vessel or aircrafts. Most of these so called oversized items can be transported by using specific transportation gear for heavy lifts which require individual and professional, complex and challenging transportation planning.
Typical items to be considered as a heavy lift transport are for example generators, turbines, reactors, boilers, towers, casting, heaters, presses, locomotives, boats, satellites and also military personnel and equipment. In the offshore industry, parts of oil rigs and production platforms are also transported mostly by combining multi-modal segments to shift complete rigs.
To transport heavy lift items special trucks or trailers (flatbeds) are used, which are especially suitable due to their large loading area and capacity. For air transport special fixed wing cargo aircrafts like the Antonov AN-124 or AN-225 are used or designated heavy transport helicopters like the MIL MI-26. Combination of inland waters barges are often used to link with special heavy lift vessels to provide international transport to any global destination.
